Community involvement is an important topic that can have impacts on everything from a community’s graduation rates to the quality of healthcare. Community involvement is meaningful, consistent participation in activities that support and improve upon social wellbeing. REMAX of Hot Springs Village believes in doing our best to support our community no matter where it is needed. Here are our September efforts:
Citizen Police Academy – Golf tournament water sponsor. The HSVCPAAA is a registered non-profit organization founded by Citizens Police Academy graduates, the Association’s mission is 1) to support the efforts of the HSV Police Department; 2) to supplement the financial resources of the HSVPD; and 3) to improve the safety of officers and residents.
Habitat for Humanity – Hammer to Heels event donut sponsor for upcoming build. 200 women will come together to build two houses, side by side, for two deserving families in our community! From swinging a hammer…to landscaping a yard…to painting a room, this event encourages women of all skill levels to participate in building a Habitat for Humanity home. In addition to helping two deserving families receive homes, this week gives women a sense of comradery and team-building opportunities. (Yes, men are welcome too!)
Kiwanis Golf Tournament – Sponsored the September 11th Golf Tournament. Kiwanis is “Improving the World One Child and One Community at a Time.” Working with Jessieville and Mountain Pine schools, helping children and the community for 40 years.
United Methodist Church – Golf tournament sponsor. This was a fun day for all at the United Methodist Men and Christ of the Hills at Diamante. We seek to live a Christian life daily, to nurture each other, and to reach out to our community and the larger world.
United Way – Golf Tournament Sponsor. United Way of the Ouachita’s is the bridge that connects the business community to the non-profit world of social services, governmental bodies, and educational institutions. Our outreach throughout the community engages all individuals willing to pitch in and help improve lives and build a better community.
Village Walk for Cancer Research – Co-chair for the walk and REMAX agents served food during the event. The Village Walk for Cancer Research started in 2002 as the Midge Bates Walk. Each year, we dedicate and honor a person who is a cancer survivor and honor the memory of a person who lost their life to cancer. Our Mission—to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer research at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS. Proceeds support cancer research and cancer related projects in our community.
At REMAX of Hot Springs Village, we support the community we care about. Partnering with local professionals and policymakers to help improve local services or education programs can have significant benefits for our community. Getting involved is a good way to have long-lasting impacts on your community.
